PhilHealth launched a new benefits package for post-kidney transplant services, covering both adults and children with stage 5 chronic kidney disease.
The package includes coverage for immunosuppressive medications, drug prophylaxis, and laboratory services, with different benefit amounts based on age groups.
Kidney donors are also entitled to semi-annual laboratory services.
President Marcos emphasized the importance of a healthy diet to prevent kidney disease, urging Filipinos to reduce sugar and salt intake.
Meanwhile, PhilHealth reported an 84-percent increase in benefit claims payments to health facilities in the first five months of 2025, totaling nearly P119 billion.
