More than 583,000 military and uniformed personnel (MUPs) are set to receive a 5% base pay increase and continue getting a PHP350 daily subsistence allowance starting January 2027 under the proposed national budget.
The Department of Budget and Management proposed PHP74.92 billion for adjusted AFP pay and PHP100.55 billion for PNP pay, while additional funds will support personnel hiring, healthcare, equipment, and other benefits.
The proposed budget also allocates PHP316.71 billion for the AFP, including PHP50 billion for its modernization program.
Meanwhile, the PNP is set to receive PHP242.53 billion, with funding for 2,000 new patrol officers and the filling of vacant uniformed positions.
DBM said the investments aim to improve the welfare of uniformed personnel while strengthening their operational and national security capabilities.
