The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) began a two-week trial of a relocated U-turn slot along C3 Road in Quezon City on Monday to ease traffic congestion at the C3–Quezon Avenue intersection.
The northbound U-turn was moved closer to the Skyway off-ramp and reserved for vehicles exiting the Skyway, while Service Road motorists are redirected to the Maria Clara U-turn slot.
Vehicles from España Rotonda are instructed to turn right onto Araneta Avenue and use the Kaliraya U-turn to reach their destinations, part of measures to reduce bottlenecks at the main junction.
Skyway management installed overhead signs at Exit 1 (Quezon Avenue) and Exit 2 (Maria Clara) to guide motorists to the correct lanes during the dry run.
The MMDA, in coordination with the Quezon City government, will assess the trial’s impact before deciding whether to make the rerouting permanent.
