The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday assured the public that traffic and safety measures are in place for the Trillion Peso Movement March on Feb. 25, marking the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
During a walk-through at the People Power Monument, MMDA General Manager Usec. Nicolas Torre III said the agency is committed to ensuring public safety while keeping major roads passable.
The MMDA is coordinating with the Quezon City government, law enforcement agencies, and event organizers for the orderly conduct of the event.
Traffic enforcers, rerouting plans, emergency lanes, and support equipment such as ambulances and tow trucks will be deployed in key areas, with around 30,000 participants expected.
Motorists are advised to anticipate heavy traffic, although no road closures will be implemented along EDSA.
