The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) urged mall operators to open their parking facilities for overnight public use as Typhoon “Inday” threatens to bring heavy rains and strong winds.
The request aims to provide temporary safe parking spaces for vehicles in affected areas starting Thursday evening until the typhoon passes.
MMDA Chair Don Artes said mall announcements will also be shared on the agency’s social media platforms to keep the public informed.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier directed government agencies to prepare for the typhoon’s possible impacts.
