Philippine representative Michelle Arceo has captivated pageant enthusiasts with her national costume for the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant, drawing inspiration from the local waling-waling flowers.
Designed by Chino Christopherson, the ensemble embodies the essence of the “Queen of Philippine flowers” and is influenced by carnivals and the Victoria’s Secret fashion show wings.
Arceo shared a detailed look at the costume, featuring a rhinestone and crystal-adorned skin-tone bodysuit with Japan-cut beads and tassel accents. A silver headpiece adorned with large, spray-painted orchids completes the look, reflecting the magnificence of the waling-waling and paying homage to the country’s biodiversity and cultural richness.
Arceo, who previously represented the Philippines in the Miss Environment International pageant, urged fans to vote for her on the Reina Hispanoamericana app for a chance to secure a spot in the top 12.
The coronation night for the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant is scheduled for January 28 in Bolivia, where Arceo aims to bring home the Philippines’ second crown in the competition celebrating Hispanic heritage, culture, and language.
