Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso plans to modernize and revive 44 city health centers to strengthen community-based healthcare services.
He said the initiative aims to bring basic medical services closer to residents and help decongest hospitals by improving barangay-level care.
Domagoso noted that many health centers have deteriorated or ceased operations over the years, limiting access to essential services.
The planned upgrades will include improved facilities, better medical equipment, and increased healthcare personnel deployment in communities.
Barangay officials welcomed the initiative and pledged support to coordinate with the city government in its implementation.
