Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan praised Carlos Edriel Yulo for winning the gold medal in men’s gymnastics floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Lacuna-Pangan, who witnessed Yulo’s emotional victory, expressed profound pride and admiration for his performance.
Yulo, honored last month as an “Outstanding Manileño,” will receive a hero’s welcome and additional awards from the city government.
The Manila City Council is also preparing further recognition for Yulo, who has already been celebrated for his achievements in gymnastics.
Yulo, a two-time world champion and multiple gold medalist, thanked his supporters and credited his success to four years of preparation and divine guidance.
