MARIKINA DECLARES ‘HEALTH BREAK’ SUSPENSION OF CLASSES ON OCTOBER 13-14

Marikina City has suspended classes for all public and private schools on October 13 and 14 due to a rise in flu and flu-like illness cases.

Mayor Maan Teodoro said the two-day health break is a precautionary measure recommended by the City Health Office to protect students, teachers, and staff.

During this period, schools will undergo general cleaning and disinfection to curb the spread of the illness.

Other universities in Metro Manila, such as Adamson University and National University Fairview, have also reported increased flu cases and implemented measures like online classes and mask mandates.

Several schools, including the University of Sto. Tomas and San Beda Alabang have similarly declared health breaks in response to the flu surge.
