MIA Sports Center and Malaysia’s New Vision Badminton Academy (NVBA) have partnered to establish the NVBA-MIA Badminton Academy, which will officially open on Aug. 1 in Pasay City.
The academy will adopt NVBA’s internationally recognized training system, with Malaysian coaches leading the program while mentoring Filipino coaches to maintain global standards.
MIA Sports Center president Melvin Nubla said the partnership aims to provide world-class badminton training for grassroots and elite junior players and strengthen the development of local coaches.
The academy will operate under the supervision of NVBA’s Malaysian headquarters, similar to its international branches in Dubai and the Maldives, and will offer training to both local and foreign players.
Nubla said the long-term collaboration seeks to produce internationally competitive Filipino athletes and help elevate the overall standard of badminton in the Philippines.
