President Marcos’ legislative affairs adviser, Mark Llandro Mendoza, praised the performance of the 19th Congress, noting that around 70 to 75 percent of the administration’s priority bills were passed.
Mendoza credited the cooperation between lawmakers across both the majority and minority parties, highlighting that many of the minority’s inputs were also considered.
He noted that the 19th Congress successfully passed several high-impact bills.
As the Congress takes a break for the midterm elections, it will reconvene on June 2 and adjourn on June 14.
Despite the progress, Mendoza acknowledged that not all remaining priority bills will likely be passed during the rest of the sessions, with many being local measures.
