Around 2,000 individuals joined Makati City’s internship program designed to provide hands-on experience within local government offices, Mayor Nancy Binay announced.
The orientation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Makati Coliseum, led by Mayor Binay.
Targeting youth aged 18 to 30, the program offers temporary training and employment through the Makati Public Employment Services Office (PESO).
Interns work at least 20 hours per week, must meet specific qualifications, and receive daily compensation of P695 for eight hours of work.
Mayor Binay emphasized the initiative’s role in nurturing young talent and bridging academic learning with real-world work experience.
