Makati City announced plans to partner with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to improve its mass transit systems and address ongoing traffic issues.
During a courtesy visit by DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, Mayor Nancy Binay discussed possible collaborations, including support for the Metro Manila Subway project, Pasig River ferry improvements, and the rehabilitation of Makati’s railway stations.
The partnership aims to enhance traffic flow and provide more convenient transportation for the city’s swelling daytime population of up to 4.2 million people.
Key officials from both Makati and DOTr attended the meeting to discuss next steps.
Mayor Binay emphasized Makati’s commitment to delivering efficient transport solutions and looks forward to working closely with the DOTr.
