Makati City has inaugurated the Philippines’ first dedicated animal care facility, located in Barangay Olympia, to promote animal welfare and a pet-friendly environment.
Mayor Abby Binay led the opening and emphasized the city’s commitment to responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals.
The facility offers free consultations, vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/castration services, and also serves as the city’s veterinary services office.
Stray animals will be made available for adoption, and the city partners with organizations like the Animal Kingdom Foundation to support animal welfare.
Binay encouraged Makatizens to care for their pets responsibly as she prepares to end her mayoral term this June.
