‘LOVE CHILD’: A TRIBUTE TO PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM, FILM TEAM REVEALS

The film “Love Child,” featuring real-life couple RK Bagatsing and Jane Oineza, aims to raise awareness about autism while serving as a heartfelt tribute to parents of children with special needs.

The story follows Ayla and Paolo (Oineza and Bagatsing) as they return to Negros Occidental to raise their autistic son, Kali (John Tyrron Ramos).

Director Jonathan Jurilla, who has a personal connection to autism through his own son, emphasized that the film focuses on the struggles of parents alongside those of the child.

Co-producer Sonny Calvento and screenwriter-producer Arden Rod Condez highlighted the film’s blend of mainstream appeal and indie sensibility to effectively convey universal emotions and specific challenges faced by parents.

Bagatsing and Oineza described their roles as a “15-day free trial” of parenthood, although they are not rushing into having children themselves.
