Lawyer Ruy Rondain on Wednesday dismissed as false claims by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla that former party-list representative Zaldy Co amassed billions of pesos in bitcoin abroad and stored cash in multiple basement levels at his Forbes Park residence.
Rondain called the allegation of up to ₱5 billion in bitcoin a “complete fabrication” and challenged Remulla to name the alleged source of the information.
He also rejected claims that Co’s home had four to five basement levels, saying the house only has a split-type basement designed solely for vehicle parking.
Rondain explained that the basement design complies with Forbes Park building rules and was not intended to conceal unaccounted money.
He stressed that the public deserves facts, not misinformation, in discussions involving public figures.
