The main witness in the vote-buying case against former Quezon City Representative Bong Suntay has retracted his earlier testimony, accusing a lawyer linked to incumbent Rep. Marvin Rillo of coercing him into falsely implicating Suntay.
Kevin Roissing, also known as “Angel” or “Ms. Abba,” claims he was threatened and forced to provide scripted statements accusing Suntay in connection with the alleged “Ako at Walo” vote-buying scheme.
Roissing, a former social media handler for Rillo, said he was offered money and promises of a sex reassignment surgery in exchange for his fabricated testimony.
He also alleged that lawyer Jesus Falcis and other individuals associated with Rillo pressured him into hiding and filming a viral video, claiming threats to his life and the safety of his family.
The revelations have cast serious doubts on the credibility of the case, with the complaint now under review by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), while Roissing’s lawyer has filed evidence to protect his client’s safety.
