The Department of Agriculture launched the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo Rice-for-All” program in NCR, offering rice at P40 per kilo to help consumers cope with inflation. The initiative is available at major public markets and transport hubs, with plans for national expansion supported by a P5 billion additional budget. This rollout aims to counter profiteering among rice traders and retailers. Initially priced at P45 and later P43, the rice price was further reduced to P40. Agriculture Secretary Laurel emphasized the program’s goal of food security and price stability across Metro Manila.
