Senator Jinggoy Estrada filed four counts of perjury against dismissed DPWH engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez for allegedly making false statements linking him to anomalous flood control projects.
Estrada, accompanied by his lawyer Bianca Soriano, complained to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, accusing Hernandez of fabricating testimonies and using a fake ID in casinos.
Soriano said the complaint also covered Hernandez’s inconsistent statements during congressional hearings, where he alternately denied and then implicated Estrada in corruption.
The senator claimed Hernandez falsely involved him after being cited for contempt in a Senate inquiry.
Estrada maintained his innocence, saying the allegations were meant to damage his reputation, adding that he had already denied any involvement when questioned by the Independent Commission on Infrastructure.
