Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya congratulated Ralph Gonzalez Recto on his appointment as Executive Secretary and expressed Japan’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation with the Philippines.
In a letter dated Nov. 18, Endo said Recto’s leadership would have a “far-reaching impact” and highlighted the Marcos administration’s decision as a significant step for bilateral relations.
The ambassador praised Recto’s previous work as Finance Secretary, noting his role in strengthening Japan-Philippines cooperation on infrastructure and economic programs.
Endo also expressed his desire to personally convey his congratulations and reaffirm Japan’s ongoing support for shared goals of peace, stability, and prosperity.
Recto, who assumed office on Nov. 19, has held key economic governance roles, including NEDA chief, Monetary Board member, and Finance Secretary.
