Around 1,000 triathletes from 30 countries are set to compete in the main Ironman 70.3 Davao on March 22, with overall participation expected to exceed 3,000 for the weekend’s events.
The race features a 1.9-km swim, 90-km bike, and 21.1-km run, including a modified bike course to challenge athletes’ speed, pacing, and endurance under Davao’s tropical conditions.
International stars like Spain’s Rodrigo Delgado and Singapore’s Pin Wei Toh will face Filipino elites, including Irienold Reig Jr. and Bea Quiambao, in the highly competitive field.
Organizers aim to promote the Philippines as a top destination for endurance sports, with side events like the Sunrise Sprint triathlon boosting overall participation. Fans can expect fierce, unpredictable battles across all age groups in the country’s premier triathlon event.
