The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) has endorsed only eight senatorial candidates out of 66 for the May 12 midterm elections, a departure from its usual full 12-slot slate.
The endorsed candidates include Bam Aquino, Bong Revilla, Pia Cayetano, Ronald dela Rosa, Bong Go, Rodante Marcoleta, Imee Marcos, and Camille Villar, with Marcoleta being the first INC member reportedly allowed to run for senator.
Bong Go expressed gratitude for the INC’s support, citing their shared commitment to public service and his past advocacy work for the poor.
Meanwhile, senatorial aspirant Benhur Abalos saw a rise in his survey ratings and gained endorsements from former VP Leni Robredo and celebrity Vice Ganda.
Speaker Martin Romualdez also highlighted strong backing from Eastern Visayas voters for the Marcos administration’s Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate.
