The House of Representatives is set to approve the proposed P6.352 trillion national budget for 2025 by Wednesday, ahead of Congress’s break on Friday.
Following two weeks of plenary debates, lawmakers are expected to pass House Bill 10800 on its third and final reading.
Speaker Martin Romualdez emphasized the urgency and transparency of the budget process, which aims to facilitate sustained economic development and fund key infrastructure and social protection initiatives.
The House will also address the reduced P733 million budget of Vice President Sara Duterte, who has faced scrutiny over her previous confidential funds.
Other agencies’ budgets, including the Dangerous Drugs Board and the Departments of Agriculture and Health, will also be discussed in today’s session.
