Filipino Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is aiming to compete in this year’s Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, her coach and husband Julius Naranjo revealed.
Despite a busy schedule filled with seminars and other commitments, training remains a top priority for Diaz as they prepare for the event.
While she is set to compete, Naranjo acknowledged that plans might change, emphasizing they are taking things day by day.
Diaz has previously won multiple SEA Games medals but missed the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The couple also led the “Lift for a Cause” friendly weightlifting meet during the 2025 All Out Games to support grassroots weightlifting, with proceeds benefiting the Tondo Weightlifting Club, which trains under challenging conditions.
