The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has allocated ₱8.6 billion for emergency loans to assist members and pensioners affected by natural disasters and crises.
The fund aims to support individuals living or working in areas declared under a state of calamity.
Qualified applicants can borrow up to ₱40,000, repayable over three years with an interest rate of 6%.
GSIS President Wick Veloso emphasized the agency’s commitment to providing timely financial aid to alleviate the burden on its members during emergencies.
The initiative highlights GSIS’s role in ensuring financial resilience amid the challenges brought by climate-related and other unforeseen events.
