GREEN BONES WINS BEST PICTURE AT MMFF FOR ITS TAUT STORYTELLING

The 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) showcases ten films, with “Green Bones” emerging as a standout, winning multiple awards including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor for Dennis Trillo.

The 96-minute film effectively explores themes of evil, criminality, and redemption, focusing on the character Domingo Zamora, played by Trillo, and his experiences in a fictional island penal colony.

The story is told from multiple perspectives, including that of prison guard Xavier Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid), offering a nuanced portrayal of the prison system and the individuals within it.

Directed by Zig Dulay and written by Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza, the film is praised for its tight storytelling and strong performances, especially from supporting actor Ronnie Lazaro.

MMFF films will continue to be screened until January 14, allowing audiences to catch the award-winning film.
