Veteran actress Gloria Romero, known as the “Queen of Philippine Cinema,” passed away on January 25, 2025, at 91.
Her daughter, Maritess Gutierrez, shared the sad news on Facebook, expressing deep gratitude for the support and condolences from friends and fans.
Gloria’s wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapel in Quezon City, with a public viewing scheduled for January 27 and 28.
Over her 70-year career, Gloria earned multiple acting awards and was celebrated for her roles in films like Magnifico, Dalagang Ilocana, and Rainbow’s Sunset.
In 2024, she received a star-studded tribute and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Film Development Council of the Philippines for her lasting impact on Filipino cinema.
