The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has approved the ballot faces for the first-ever automated Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE), while finalizing the source code needed for the voting system.
Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said preparations are on track, with equipment, budget, and training for Electoral Board members and staff already in place.
He emphasized that June and July are critical months for completing key technical processes, including the source code build, review, and mock elections.
Final testing and sealing of the machines and transmission systems will also take place ahead of the October 13 polls.
Comelec targets to begin printing the 2.3 to 2.5 million official ballots by August.
