FILIPINO HITS “ERE” AND “PASILYO” SHATTER BARRIERS, CAPTIVATE GLOBAL AUDIENCE

Two songs from the Philippines have made it to the list of the most searched songs on Google worldwide this year.

“Ere” by singer-songwriter JK Labajo secured the sixth spot and also became the first Filipino song to debut on the Spotify Global chart. Labajo recently confirmed that “Ere” was inspired by his breakup with beauty queen Maureen Wroblewitz.

Another Filipino hit, “Pasilyo” by breakout band SunKissed Lola, ranked ninth in Google’s list of the most searched songs globally.

Topping the list is “アイドル” (Idol) by the Japanese duo Yoasobi, followed by “Try That In A Small Town” by Jason Aldean and “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” by Shakira and Bizarrap.

Google’s Year in Search for 2023 covers various categories, including personalities, places, movies, TV shows, and games. While internet users can explore search trends in their respective countries, data from the Philippines is not yet available at the time of writing.
