Filipina agricultural scientist Norhaya Demacaling has been honored as one of the young global innovators in agriculture by the World Food Prize Foundation.
Demacaling, representing the Philippines, is among 38 individuals from 20 countries recognized in the inaugural Top Agri-food Pioneers (TAP) list.
She was acknowledged for her contributions to plant science and environmental management, particularly her work with SEED Philippines on enhancing crop productivity and resilience.
As chief agriculturist and director of programming at SEED Philippines, Demacaling develops innovative farming solutions for smallholder farmers facing climate change challenges.
Her efforts in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and improving food security have garnered international acclaim.
