Far Eastern University (FEU) and the University of the East (UE) began their 2024 Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-season Championship campaigns with impressive victories at Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Friday.
FEU’s rookie Clarissed Loresco led her team to a dominant win over San Sebastian College-Recoletos, finishing the match with nine points, including four in the final set, for a score of 25-14, 25-19, 25-20.
Meanwhile, UE’s Jelai Gajero was a standout performer, scoring 20 points to guide her team past Lyceum in a hard-fought match that ended 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15.
Riza Nogales also made a significant impact for UE, contributing six blocks to her 15 points.
Overall, both teams displayed strong performances, setting a positive tone for their tournament campaigns.
