Former Department of Energy director for the Visayas, Russ Mark Gamallo, has officially filed his certificate of candidacy for the mayoral position in Samboan, Cebu, aiming to unseat incumbent Mayor Emerito Emmanuel Calderon.
Running under the Aksyon Demokratiko Party, Gamallo plans to focus on councilor positions for his team rather than naming a vice mayoral candidate, signaling a desire to shake up the local political landscape.
Supported by family and notable figures such as former Cebu City councilor Nina Mabatid, Gamallo emphasized his commitment to driving real change in Samboan, advocating for job creation, improved public services, and sustainable infrastructure development.
