ENHANCED TRANSMISSION: COMELEC TO ROLL OUT ‘SENT-TO-ALL’ FOR 2025 POLLS

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced plans to introduce a new transmission system for the 2025 national and local elections, retiring the transparency server.

Comelec Chair George Garcia revealed that the new system would feature a “sent-to-all” function, sending election results from precincts simultaneously to media outlets, poll watchdogs, political parties, and local canvassing boards.

This initiative aims to enhance transparency, allowing stakeholders to cross-verify results in real-time. The system will also provide QR codes for election receipts, enabling watchdogs to conduct swift counts. Additionally, the Department of Information and Communications Technology will have access to a mirrored version of the results. Comelec hopes this system will address previous transparency concerns.

The P1.4-billion transmission contract for the elections will be awarded to iOne Resources, Inc. and Ardent Networks, Inc.

Furthermore, Comelec reported a milestone of 2 million new voter registrations ahead of the September 30 deadline, expecting to surpass its target of 3 million new registrants for the upcoming polls.
