Filipino pole vault star EJ Obiena secured his third consecutive gold at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea, defeating China’s Huang Bokai in a thrilling 5.77-meter jump-off.
With the win, Obiena continues to build momentum as he heads back to Europe to compete in key meets in Munich, Rome, and the Netherlands.
The world-ranked No. 3 vaulter remains focused on preparing for the World Championships in Tokyo this September.
Obiena, who still holds the Asian record of 6.0 meters, is also set to compete in the prestigious Diamond League legs in Oslo and Stockholm.
The 29-year-old athlete continues to bring pride to the Philippines as he eyes further international success.
