The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded employers to release workers’ final pay and Certificates of Employment (COE) on time, warning that violations could lead to complaints or penalties.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma cited President Marcos Jr.’s call for stronger enforcement of labor rights.
DOLE data showed that issues with final pay were the most common labor concern in 2025, accounting for 23,496 of 168,853 inquiries.
Under Labor Advisory No. 06, employers must provide final pay within 30 days of separation and issue a COE within three days of request.
DOLE urged affected workers to report delays via Hotline 1349, email, or its official Facebook page.
