DOH STEPS UP HIV PREVENTION AND TESTING CAMPAIGN

The Department of Health (DOH) is intensifying its condom distribution program to help reduce HIV cases, sexually transmitted infections, and unplanned pregnancies.

Through the Philippine National AIDS Council, the agency distributed more than 15,000 condoms to government offices, including the Department of Justice, Manila City government, and Metro Rail Transit management.

The Bureau of Quarantine and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples are also set to receive free condoms.

The DOH said the program will expand to local government units and barangays to improve access to protection.

From April to June 2026, the agency recorded 2,994 confirmed HIV cases, including 828 people diagnosed with advanced HIV.
