The Department of Health (DOH) announced the arrival of 455,188 bottles of Lamivudine+Tenofovir+Dolutegravir (LTD), the recommended first-line antiretroviral treatment for people living with HIV (PLHIV).
The medicines have undergone inspection and were found to be safe, effective, high-quality, and registered with the Food and Drug Administration, with distribution scheduled to begin next week.
The DOH said additional shipments are expected in August and September to complete the delivery of more than 1.16 million bottles of LTD.
The full supply is expected to support the treatment of an estimated 97,000 PLHIV nationwide, despite earlier delivery delays caused by the Middle East crisis.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring continuous access to life-saving HIV treatment across the country.
