Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC) secured the largest number of projects in the Department of Energy’s fourth Green Energy Auction (GEA-4), according to preliminary results.
The auction, which concluded recently, successfully bid out 9,423 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy capacity, reaching 88 percent of its 10,653 MW target.
Alongside CREC, Ramon Ang-led SMC Global Light and Power Corp. and Joy-Nostalg Solaris Inc. were among the top awardees.
Project completions are scheduled through 2029, with various solar, wind, and integrated energy storage systems planned.
The DOE also requires winners to meet post-auction obligations, including performance bonds and feasibility studies with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.
