The Department of Energy (DOE) and DOST-Phivolcs have partnered to integrate scientific hazard data into energy resilience planning through a new memorandum of agreement.
This collaboration links Phivolcs’ GeoRiskPH platform with DOE’s Energy Disaster Information Management System for better real-time disaster monitoring.
Energy Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella emphasized the importance of using robust scientific data to ensure reliable power amid climate change challenges.
The partnership builds on a previous 2018 project aimed at reducing damage and downtime from earthquakes.
