DOE ADVOCATES EXPANDED PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY

The Department of Energy (DOE) highlighted the importance of increasing public-private partnerships to help achieve the government’s goal of raising renewable energy’s share to 35 percent by 2030.

This statement came after the commissioning of Samal Solar Renewable Energy Corporation’s project, which now supplies 41.92 megawatts of clean energy to the Luzon grid.

DOE Assistant Secretary Mylene Capongcol praised the solar plant for promoting sustainable development and creating local jobs.

As of April, the DOE reported 1,392 active renewable energy contracts nationwide, totaling 7.05 gigawatts of installed capacity.

The agency emphasized that such projects showcase the transformative impact of renewable energy on both power generation and community growth.
