DIZON DIRECTS START OF P31M PEDESTRIAN-FRIENDLY ROADWORK IN NAGA

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the start of a P31-million road redevelopment project along Melchor T. Villanueva Avenue in Naga City.

The project will feature wider sidewalks, bike lanes, PWD-friendly facilities, and an improved drainage system to help address flooding.

The Department of Public Works and Highways said the project is expected to be completed within six to seven months.

Dizon said the project prioritizes pedestrian safety and walkability, especially amid rising fuel prices.

Mayor Leni Robredo welcomed the project, noting that the road is a four-lane national highway near three major schools where many pedestrians are at risk from speeding vehicles.
