CUSTOMS OFFICIALS INTERCEPT P8.8 MILLION IN DRUGS SENT VIA MAIL

Three unclaimed parcels containing suspected illegal drugs worth an estimated P8.8 million were intercepted at a warehouse in Pasay City.

The packages, declared as electronic equipment and garments, were flagged during X-ray screening and K-9 inspection on September 25.

Physical inspection revealed 992 grams of shabu and 1,396 grams of high-grade marijuana hidden inside.

Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno praised the vigilance of BOC and airport authorities, who worked with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The seized drugs are now secured under BOC-Naia custody pending further testing and investigation.
