Consumer group CitizenWatch urged the trucking sector not to hold a transport protest that could disrupt the movement of goods.
Co-convenor Christopher “Kit” Belmonte warned that a port strike would burden consumers without necessarily resolving truckers’ concerns.
He said the protest could delay the delivery of essential goods, including food, medicine, and fuel.
Belmonte noted that ordinary Filipinos are already struggling with financial difficulties.
He called for solutions that address truckers’ concerns without disrupting the supply of basic commodities.
