The House of Representatives has revived the “quad committee” to continue probing unresolved and emerging issues such as extrajudicial killings, illegal drugs, POGOs, and corruption tied to both past and present officials.
Now called “Quad Comm 2.0,” the panel is set to expand its scope following revelations from the 19th Congress, including the cases of alleged Chinese spy Alice Guo and the Duterte drug war.
The resolution was introduced by Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr., who retained his chairmanship of the human rights panel.
Other committee heads include Reps. Jonathan Keith Flores (Dangerous Drugs), Rolando Valeriano (Public Order and Safety), and Terry Ridon (Public Accounts).
Abante stressed the importance of holding those involved accountable, saying, “The process of reckoning is far from over.”
