The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Negros Occidental is set to begin the filing of certificates of candidacy (CoCs) from October 1 to October 8 at the Capitol Social Hall.
Candidates can submit CoCs for various provincial positions, including governor, vice governor, and board members, with local election officers handling filings for local roles.
Each candidate must prepare five notarized copies of their CoC, which should be filled out back-to-back on legal-sized paper.
Additionally, Comelec officials reminded first-time voters that the registration period ends on September 30.
In a related development, Comelec-Negros Island Region director Lionel Marco Castillano announced that all candidates must register their social media accounts used for election campaigning by December 13 to combat misinformation and ensure compliance with campaign regulations.
