Classes at Batangas City Integrated High School were suspended on Monday after an unidentified individual, claiming to be a bullied student, posted threats on the school’s official Facebook page, warning of a possible shooting targeting students in several grade levels.
The Department of Education Region 4-A and school officials immediately halted classes and on-site activities as a precaution while authorities investigated the incident.
The Philippine National Police and its Anti-Cybercrime Group have launched an investigation to identify the owner of the dummy account and trace the source of the threat.
Police said no immediate danger was found on campus aside from the online post, while a separate school shooting threat is also being investigated in Escalante City.
School officials announced that regular classes would resume after security assessments and the implementation of additional safety measures.
