Senator Ronald dela Rosa revealed that Senate President Francis Escudero has reached out to him regarding the Senate presidency, but the Duterte bloc has yet to decide whom to support.
Dela Rosa said the group will hold discussions after Senator Robinhood Padilla returns from the Netherlands, where he is showing support for former President Duterte.
Meanwhile, Senator Risa Hontiveros announced her intention to pursue the minority leadership in the upcoming 20th Congress, aiming to build a larger minority bloc with allies like Bam Aquino and Francis Pangilinan.
She emphasized she wants an independent minority coalition, distinct from the Duterte bloc, and remains open to running for president in 2028.
For now, Hontiveros and her allies plan to focus on uniting opposition and independent senators in the months following the elections.
