Chile and the Philippines are working toward the timely finalization of their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), a bilateral trade deal to strengthen economic ties.
The first in-person negotiations were held in Santiago in July, focusing on trade in goods, services, and other key areas.
Both countries emphasized the importance of quickly concluding the deal to open new markets and boost cooperation, especially in Southeast Asia.
The agreement aims to cover not only trade but also the digital economy and intellectual property, supporting competitiveness and small business growth.
Launched in December 2024, the CEPA is set to be the Philippines’ first economic pact with a Latin American country, with plans to finalize by the end of 2025.
