On Friday, Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) Rep. Margarita Nograles urged the Land Registration Authority (LRA) to begin forfeiture proceedings against real estate assets owned by illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and the family of dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo.
Nograles highlighted that these landholdings violate the Philippine Constitution, which prohibits foreigners from owning land in the country.
She pointed out that foreign entities, including those linked to POGOs, have exploited legal loopholes to acquire property, raising serious concerns.
Nograles called for the LRA to issue an adverse claim on these properties to prevent further transactions and secure them for the government.
Emphasizing the need for stronger government collaboration, she stressed that immediate action is crucial to protect the nation’s resources and uphold constitutional integrity.
