The municipality of Bustos, Bulacan, became the first local government unit (LGU) in Central Luzon to implement a high-tech public safety communication system similar to those in the U.S. and Europe.
Mayor Francis Albert Juan launched the Bustos Command Center on April 21, aiming to significantly enhance emergency response for residents.
The system, praised by National E911 office executive director Francis Fajardo, can pinpoint caller locations, integrate with various communication tools, and filter prank calls.
Staffed by 24/7 trained call handlers, the center marks a major step forward for local public safety efforts.
Mayor Juan said the system fulfills a long-time dream of delivering faster and more efficient services to Bustos citizens, especially for emergencies like vehicular accidents.
